Breastfeeding And Returning To Work

How To Make An Easy Transition

Breast milk is the perfect food for your infant up to age 1 year, per the American Academy of Pediatrics.  Working and mothering is now very commonplace, but still is filled with stressful emotions.  Let’s discuss a game plan for pumping while away from baby, so his/her favorite food will be readily available, and you can feel confident of your ability to do both mothering and working outside your home.

This class will be interactive to cover all of your individual questions, and will include a discussion of suggested supplies needed to make working outside of the home and breastfeeding an easy transition.  Learn how to keep your milk supply strong, what to do if it decreases and how to get some sleep and enjoy your baby.  This class will be filled with practical suggestions and ideas.

Topics will Include:

  • Types of Breast Pumps and how to use them (including flange sizing for comfort)

  • Breast Pump Care & Cleaning (how not to grow mold)

  • Breast Pump Ethics

  • Storage of Breast milk
